By default, the True East mode is enabled (when the switch is ON). This mode uses your current locations and your compass heading to calculate the exact geographic direction of the Quibla.
The qiblah is very important to more than just the salaat, and plays an important part in everyday religious events. The head of an animal that is slaughtered using Halal methods is normally adjusted with the qiblah. After death, Muslims are buried with their faces in the direction of the qiblah.
On the other hand, the Absolute East mode (when the switch is OFF), uses your compass to show you the direction of the East relative to your heading.
Application may provide invalid information due to electro-magnetic fields. Please do not use it for major projects that require strict accuracy.
Since this compass needs the built in GPS and compass, it only works on the iPhone 3GS.
